40 days later, again I was in the presence of my Dai -- Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS). The event this time being Imam Husayn's Chelum. The location that was graced with his barakat this time was Masjid al-Husayni in London, UK.
It had been exactly a year ago since the masjid itself was completed for iftitah, but despite this length of time, there was much work still to be done. The Madrassah, the Jumaat offices, the library, the games facilities and most of the surrounding houses were still not upto completion. It was only with the renewed vigour, brought on by the presence of Shezada Muffadal Bhaisaheb, that the complex was finally seeming to come to fruitation. Three weeks prior to chelum, mumineen from all over the world could be seen: painting, hammering, plumbing, refurnishing etc. all with the motivation to do Aka Moula's (TUS) khidmat.
Then on Chelum na din, Aka Moula (TUS) entered the confines of the masjid at approx. 11:30am (BST) to the sounds of Tolebatul Kuliyah reciting "La tah fa heya", proceeding to Bu Saheba's ziyarat mubarak. After this, he rose majestically onto the takat to bring barakat to the minions who had gathered there that day. People had come from all over the globe, regardless of the ever so typical British weather, regardless of their respective jobs or commitments, regardless of any personal hurdles they had to overcome to get here.
In the waez itself, Aka Moula (TUS) explained the meaning of each of the haraf's in the word "mumeen" -- meem, wow, meem, noon -- thus encapsulating the shahadaats of each Panjatan Na Saheb (SA), and also raising the grandeur of our masjid, be recalling word for word the same shahadaat of Moulana Husayn (SA) as had been recited 40 days earlier, by that same sweet voice, in Masjid al-Moazzam in Surat. He explained how it was due to the barakat of Al-Jamea al-Anver that a masjid such as ours could come into existence. A masjid which is much more than a "place of worship", much more than a place for a community to gather; a masjid which is a sign of Imam ul-Zamaan's noorani shaan, due to both, it's very existence in a western clime such as Britain, and also the ikhlaas of mumineen around the world for their Dai. Then in a beautiful father-son moment, Aka Moula (TUS) did great dua for Shezada Muffadal bhaisaheb, eloquently making felt the place he kept for him in in his heart. It was indeed touching.
After Zohr-Asr namaaz, Aka Moula (TUS) attended a ziyafat, put on by a few members of the jumaat, before performing the qadambosi of all the international guests who had arrived there that day.
The rains poured, mumineen were once again packed into the confines of a finite region, and nothing save the sounds of "Ya Husayn !" mattered. It was exactly like Surat, yet it was totally different !
