The grand event of Ashara Mubaraka 1418 H. in Surat was an experience of the lifetime for those who were fortunate enough to attend it. Huzurala TUS by the ilham of Imamuz-zaman A.S. declared the venue of Ashara Mubaraka in Jamea-ul-Aqmar. The news spread all over the world like a glow of lighting. Huzurala TUS flew down to Bombay from Al Qahera, with a short halt at Abu- Dhabi and immediately proceeded to Surat by the train.
In Surat preparations were already on, on the war footings. Hundreds of khidmatguzars had left their businesses and jobs to join this Aa'la khidmat. In Masjid-e-Moazzam a Tutak was erected between the ground and the first floor. Plus in the Sahen of Roza Mubaraka apart from the ground level two storeies were especially constructed for the sitting arrangements. The whole Sahen was covered with a huge mandap.
Masjid-e-Azam and the adjourning areas were well decorated with the banners of the names of Panjatan. On the Qibla was the big green parda showing the Aayat Sharifa of H.1418 "Inna Elallahe Rageboon" and "Ya Husain" in the handwritings of Aqa Maula TUS. On both the sides of Qibla was the Tugra of Rasulullah SAV 's Hadit Sharifa "Husain Minni va Ana Min Husain". Plus the Qasida Mubaraka of Syedna Taher Saifuddin R.A. were displayed on the three sides of the Tutak.
On the 2nd Moharram, nearly 35000 mumeneen mumenaat attended the first Waaz Mubarak which according to an estimate crossed 150,000 mark on the last day ie. Ashura. During the discourses Huzurala TUS bestowed mumeneen with La Qimat Hikmat na Moti and be-inteha Buka and Matam on Imam Husain A.S.
Besides Masjid and Qubba Mubaraka sitting arrangements were also made in all adjoining masjids, halls, Jamea Saifiya that included Evan Mubarak, Auditorium, Teaching blocks, & Fatemi Masjid. Nearly 525 TVs and 25 Screens were arranged for the benefit of Didar. The arrangement were so made that the person standing on the road outside masjid was also be able to do the didaar of Aqa Maula on the TV. Huzurala TUS during the Waaz said that mumeneen mumenaat not sitting in the masjid in front of me should not feel that they are far off. No, but albeit, they are sitting in front of me and receiving the barakat of my didaar on the TV sets and Screens.
The main Mawaeed Burhaniya was erected a K.M. away on the grounds of Surat Cotton Mills, near Qutbi Wadi - a mumeneen colony. But their were other small mawaeed also in different localities. The main mawaeed was a huge tent where nearly 2500 Thals were served in a single stroke.
Everyday Aqa Maula TUS bestowed mumeneen with new bayan mubarak and more and more matam. In the first Waaz mubarak Aqa Maula TUS addressed mumeneen with Musafereen ni Jamaat and said Husain Imam A.S. Musafeer of Madina completed his last Safar of this world in Kerbala on this day. In the 2nd Waaz Huzurala TUS did the nadir bayan of Safinatun-najat in the zikr' of Nooh Nabi A.S. In the 3rd Waaz (4th Moh.) Aqa Maula did zikr' of 3 Ambiya Ebrahim A.S. Moosa A.S. and Essa A.S. In 4th Waaz mubarak (5th Moh.) it was Hqeeqat na bayan. From the 6th till 9th were the zikr' of Panjatan Paak A.S. On 9th Tausu Aqa Maula TUS gave us the bisharat that today Malaekat are preparing tashrif for the mumeneen who will do booka and matam on Husain Imam A.S. tomorrow on the day of Ashura. Huzurala TUS also gave the bisharat of Shafa'at in return of matam and booka on Imam Husain A.S. on yavme Ashura. Yavme Ashura - Finally the day arrived for which the lacs had gathered in Surat. It was a moment unforgettable for all of us. Ashura - the eid of Huzn' - Huzurala TUS addressed mumeneen with "Ay! Azadara-ne Husain" "Ay! Matamdara-ne Husain" "Ay! Gumkhwara-ne Husain". After the morning Waaz and Zohr namaz Shz. Syedi Aliasgerbhai Saheb Kalimuddin SDT recited the Doa and Salam of Ashura and delivered Wasila. Huzurala TUS arrived in the masjid at 4.30 pm for the maqtal ni majlis. In the bayan mubarak Aqa Maula TUS did pur-josh ilteja and doa mubarak for the Zuhur. Huzurala TUS said "This Anwar Aqmar Juyushi Lulua are ready. This masjid-e-moazzam is ready. Ya Imamuz zaman this night of satar has been very very very ...long. Now when you shall show us the Zuhur?" Waaz mubarak ended on the Shahdat of Imam Husain A.S. Mumeneen did pur josh matam till magreb. After namaz some fortunate few were able to do the Qadambosi of Aqa Maula TUS.
In the before Waaz began Shz. Idrisbhai saheb draw 20 names by computerised lucky numbers, who had registered their names with the registration office. These 20 lucky persons were given in Hadiya the Ziyarat of Misr' and Kerbala by Aqa Maula TUS.
On 11th there were no programme. On the 12th was the ziyafat of Mashaekh kiram. On the 13th Shz. Ali Qadr' Syedi Mufaddal bhaisaheb Saifuddin presided over the majlis of Misaq and took more than 80 new misaq. On the night of Urs mubarak of Syedna Hatim A.Q. Huzurala TUS presided over the majlis.
Huzurala TUS returned to Bombay on the 16th Moh. Thursday.
